Amazing, but I love Dostoevsky, so no surprise.
Great classic reads--love the short stories.
While this doesn't include all of his great works, this is a great start for anyone wishing to taste his literary genius. I bought this as a prerequisite to Crime and Punishment and am happy to have started here. This collection will give you a good variety of his short works.
I read this for a russian class on literature. But, the novels were truly amazing. They really do live up to their reputation as some of the best literature in the world. Thanks.

The last fifty or so pages have about a quarter inch of extra paper jutting out of them. This is clearly a quality control mishap since the extra paper somehow got folded back into themselves. It looks real bad.

there is no such thing as short fiction in Russian literature. Some of D's writings are Gothic, some clearly satire of prevailing philosophies or common social behaviors, and some really fine existential anguish in some of his writings.
