A Grosvenor Square Christmas edition by Shana Galen Vanessa Kelly Anna Campbell Kate Noble Romance eBooks
A Grosvenor Square Christmas is a delightful holiday treat. Four historical authors have contributed stories to this anthology which takes place during the holiday season. Lady Winterson and her butler Philbert provide mistletoe and holiday cheer in each story.Shana Galen's Seduction of a Duchess was my favorite story. I enjoyed Galen's Sons of the Revolution series and was pleased that Rowena was given a second chance for romance, love and happiness! I enjoyed the older woman/younger man romance. This story was sweet, sexy and believable.
I loved the characters in Vanessa Kelly's One Kiss for Christmas. Lady Winterson and Philbert provide Amelia Easton with an unique opportunity to see Nigel Dash as a charming, caring suitor instead of a friend. This story was truly magical.
His Christmas Cinderella was author Anna Campbell's contribution to the anthology. The story is a sexy romance with two main characters who tug at your heart and has a surprise ending.
Kate Noble's The Last First Kiss is a sweet story. Both Lady Winterson and Philbert assist our hero Sebastien realize that our heroine Sussannah is not the little girl he left behind. I enjoyed this story because there was quite a bit of holiday magic involved and there were two couples who found love at the holiday ball!!

A Grosvenor Square Christmas edition by Shana Galen Vanessa Kelly Anna Campbell Kate Noble Romance eBooks Reviews
Four awesome authors have given us readers an early Christmas present. I highly recommend A GROSVENOR SQUARE CHRISTMAS! These four short stories are entirely different. The connecting thread is the annual Christmas ball at No. 3 Grosvenor Place. There is magic to be found there. The ball is given by Lady Lucy Frost, Countess of Winterson. With help from her butler, Philbert and some well placed mistletoe, four couples just might find their happily ever after. I enjoyed all four stories very much.
THE SEDUCTION OF A DUCHESS by Shana Galen
2.5 stars
This story is a stand-alone short story, but I know I would have enjoyed it so much more with a full knowledge of the prequel novels.
Was the hero a character in those books? It would be interesting to read how his acquaintance with the heroine was handled in previous books in the lead-up to this one.
This is a sweet story that pushes age boundaries for a typical historical romance with a 47 y. o. heroine and a hero 10 years her junior.
It is ok, but more romance development was needed for me.
This was my first Shana Galen story. She has a lovely writing style, but I think the short format is not a good way to judge her as a writer. I may try a full-length novel.
ONE KISS FOR CHRISTMAS by Vanessa Kelly
3 Stars
While short and sweet, for me this was the strongest story. Well-written protagonists and secondary characters. There was character development and I went along on the romance ride as the couple fell in love. I saw it happen. This is what makes a short story worthwhile in my opinion.
It was the first time I read something by this author, and I am interested in reading more now.
HIS CHRISTMAS CINDERELLA by Anna Campbell

This is the only of the 4 stories to include a very intimate, explicit sex scene. I think it would have been a good story without the sex (I can't believe I said that because I usually like sexy-times). The opening scene, in fact, had me nervous as the storyline introduces roles I don't usually care for - the heroine as a newly made mistress, a wealthy man appearing to use said mistress, and the use of a third person's property for the lovers' tryst. Usually, I would say "yuk" to all that.
That said, of the 4 stories, it was the one that had my heart racing in the hopes that it would end happily - probably because the heroine had risked so much.
As the story progressed, the author turned my unease with the roles of the protagonists into liking for the hero and sympathy for the heroine.
The best scene for me involved the stand-off between the hero's mother and the heroine's aunt. Their interactions led me to know those characters better.
I don't engage as much if I am told how the main couple fell in love before the story starts. I would like to have been there to see that happen, before the opening scene.
THE LAST FIRST KISS by Kate Noble
2.5 stars
A lovely story. It was beautifully paced and light, the feel of an historical teenage romance (without the angst) and quite sweet.
My only reservation is that we were TOLD of the heroine's childhood/teenage love of the hero and didn't get to SEE it develop, presumably due to the short story format. So while I am happy for the heroine because she gets what she wants, I can't say why the hero is loveable or worthy.
We also read the conclusion to the story about Lady Winterson and her Philbert who are `greying' that particular year. That was lovely too.
This anthology was free from . A nice Christmas present, thank-you very much.
You will get four stories by four well known authors in this Christmas collection and its free .Lady Lucy Frost the Countess Winterson with the help of her butler Philbert gave a Christmas Ball every year. No 3 Grodveron Place had some couple finding true love each year. The book gives you four different romances. I liked The Late First Kiss by Kate Noble the best.Susannah Westforth and Sebastian Beckett had been childhood friends but he thought of her still as little Susie. He comes back the night of the ball from a Grand Tour and sees she has grown up not a child any longer. The other three stories are good also. The book has a twist at the end about some of the characters. A keeper to read each Christmas.
The first story was meh with cringy moments. The second story was sweet, though the characters weren't properly Regency at all in their attitudes and behavior. The third story went quickly into a stroke by stroke description. Oddly, what finally got me to stop cringing and switch to something else was the heroine's complaint that she was going to get out of the closed carriage "looking as if she'd been dragged through a hurricane".
She's from Sussex, not Jamaica. She's never been to the Carribean. Her family are not seafarers.
She has no reason to have any awareness what a hurricane even is.
If a person is going to write historicals -- even historical porn -- at least make a slight effort!!!!!
